How to Pay Zakat al-Fitr (Fitrana)
Zakat al-Fitr is a payment of food made at the end of Ramadan, and it has to reach the poor before the Eid prayer. Every Muslim who has food to spare that day owes it, including babies and children. The amount is one saa' per person — about 2 to 3 kg of rice, flour or dates.
