Juwayriah bint al-Harith (RA)

627 CE | 6 AH

The next wife of the Prophet (PBUH) after Zainab bint Jahash was Juwayriah bit al-Harith. Her father was the chieftain the Banu Mustaliq, a branch of the
Banu Khuza'a tribe residing in the region of Hijaz.

Zainab bint Jahsh (RA)

627 CE | 6 AH

Madani

(d. 20AH/641) the cousin and wife of the Prophet (PBUH) whose original name was Barra. She was one the first emigrants to Madinah.

Maymoona bint al-Harith (RA)

629 CE | 8 AH

After Safiyyah bint Huyyay the Prophet (PBUH) married Maymoona bit Al-Harith in the eighth year of the Islamic calendar.
Maymoona had been married twice before.

Umm Habiba (RA)

627 CE | 6 AH

After Juwayriah the Prophet (PBUH) married Umm Habiba, also known as Ramla, and she was the sister of Mu'awiya and the aunt of Uthman in 'Affan.

Safiyyah bint Huyaay (RA)

629 CE | 8 AH

(d. 50AH/670CE) The Prophet (PBUH) married Safiyyah bint Huyaay in the 8th year after hijra or migration to Madinah. Safiyyah was a descendent of the Prophet Aron and was able to directly trace her genealogy back to him.

Zainab bint Khuzaymah (RA)

624 CE | 3 AH

When 'Ubaydah had died after his single combat with 'Utbah at the beginning of the battle of Badr, he had left a widow who was very much younger than himself, Zaynab, the daughter of Khuzaymah.

Umm Salamah (RA)

625 CE | 4 AH

After Zaynab Um ul-Masakeen the Prophet (PBUH) married Um Salamah also known as Hind bint Umayyah, also a widow, in 4AH.

'Aisha bint Abu Bakr (RA)

621 CE

The third wife of the Prophet (PBUH) and the daughter of Abu Bakr, she was one of the great people of Islamic jurisprudence and memorisers of hadith among the Companions.

Hafsa bint 'Umar bin al-Khattab (RA)

622 CE

(d. 45-665) The fourth wife of the Prophet (PBUH) and the daughter of the khalif 'Umar bin al-Khattab. She was married to Khunays who was martyred at the Battle of Badr, before she married the Prophet (PBUH).

Khadijah bint Khuwaylid (RA)

595 CE

Pre-Prophethood

(c. 555-619 CE) The first wife of the Prophet (PBUH) who endured many of the burdens of the call to Islam with the Prophet at the beginning of his message.

Sawda bint Zam'a (RA)

621 CE

Makki

Sawdah was the second woman from Quraish who the Prophet (PBUH) married. Before this he (PBUH) had remained unmarried for two years after the death of Khadijah, indicating the great love and attachment he had for her.
